Obituary for TROY

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday March 05, 2011

Yvonne Lang (Angel) Troy, 93, died February 26, 2011. A resident of Albuquerque for over 50 years, Angel was born in Rutland, Vermont to Retha Preville Lang and LeRoy H. Lang. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Irma Myers and Breneice Trombetta. She is survived by her four daughters, Susan Troy, Albuquerque, Malinda Lang Troy and husband, Dan Donovan, Los Angeles; Maura Troy, Tehachapi, CA; and Marcy Troy, Oakton, VA. She is also survived by her "kid" brother, Duane (Red) Lang, Albuquerque; one grandson, Todd Edwards; and one great-grandson, Troy Edwards, of Palmdale CA. She will also be missed by long-time family friend (and the son she never had), Rob Johnson, Dallas. She attended Castleton State Teachers College in Castleton VT and proudly served in the US Marine Corps Womens Reserve in WWII. Following her wishes, Mom has been cremated and a private ceremony will take place in the summer when she will join her tough Scots-Irish and hardy French-Canadian kin in the family cemetery in Rutland, VT. Mom was always sympathetic to those in distress so please consider a donation to the Battered Women's Shelter, PO Box 25363, Albuquerque NM 87125 or the Ambercare Hospice Foundation, PO Box 1610, Belen NM 87002. Thanks for doing all the hard work, Mom, and encouraging your daughters to become women of independent means.
