Obituary for HILL

Dorothy W. Hill, 85, passed away February 16, 2011 in Albuquerque. She was born in Wellington, Colorado, raised in Buffalo, Wyoming, and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1953. She is survived by her son, Thomas; three grandchildren, Kyle, Colleen, and Jennifer Hill; sister, Helen Still; two nieces, Sharon Paulson and Susan Still, and nephew Steven Still. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Burton Hill; daughter, Mary Hill; brother, Robert Watt; and her parents Thomas and Mary Watt. Dorothy attended the University of Wyoming, receiving degrees in Sociology and Psychology. After moving to Albuquerque, Dorothy was a devoted mother and homemaker, but also found time to volunteer in the hospitals and work in retail sales. She was a wonderful cook, loved to entertain and enjoyed traveling. She was a long time member of the charitable organization Daughters of the Nile, where she dedicated her time and enjoyed a busy social schedule with her many friends. Dorothy was a loving and caring wife and mother and will be forever in our hearts. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at French Lomas Chapel.
