Leonard M. Contreras, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, February 14, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Prescilla Montoya; son, Manuel Contreras; daughter, Francesca Sanchez; and several grandchildren. He was born October 22, 1936 and grew up and lived in the Barelas Neighborhood of Albuquerque. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, Washington Jr. High School and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1954. He received BA and MA degrees in Mathematics and a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico. Leonard was employed by the Boeing Airplane Co. in Seattle, WA from 1960 until 1964. He was employed by the Department of Defense at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory on Kirtland AFB until he retired. A Memorial Rosary will be recited Monday, February 21, 2011, 7:00 p.m., at French ~ Wyoming Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 10:30 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
