Sophie Martinez, 82, born in Denver, CO and a resident of Albuquerque since 1992, went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 4, 2011. Sophie was preceded in death by her son Samuel Martinez, parents, and four siblings. She is survived by her four sons and Sam's widow, Fidel and Katherine Martinez (Albuquerque, NM), James and Rosie Martinez (Round Rock, TX), Randolph and Lori Martinez (Colton, CA), Juanita Martinez (Fort Collins, CO), and Timothy and Stella Martinez (Sylmar, CA). Sophie was a grandmother and great grandmother to eleven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings, George Mondragon (Castle Rock, CO), Stella Almanza (Wichita Falls, TX). Sophie was a member of Sandia Baptist Church and Temple Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Lovelace Medical Center and Vista Hospice for the excellent care they gave our mother which allowed everyone to visit Sophie while she was still with us. Sophie did not wish a service being a servant to the Lord Jesus Christ. The family would also like to thank French Mortuary for their compassion during this difficult time.
