Violet J. Garcia, 89, a resident of New Mexico most of her life, died Thursday, February 10, 2011. She is survived by her two daughters, Lynnette Lewin and husband, Antonie R. of Albuquerque and Denise Hoskins and husband, Wyndmill of Wasaya Beach, Ontario, Canada; three grandchildren, Amber Salazar and husband, Marty, Kerri Lewin, and Aubrey Owens; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Gabriel Joshua Salazar; and numerous other relatives and friends. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Sefranka; and sister, Martha Hayes. She was born on March 2, 1921 in Ledoux, NM to Vidal and Julia Casados and graduated from high school in Denver, Colorado. Violet met Robert Sefranka and they were married on April 22, 1943. During WWII, Violet worked in an Arsenal Plant in Denver while Robert was in England. After the war, they moved to Grande Island, NE. They moved to Albuquerque in the late 70's to retire. Violet loved to paint, dance, and garden. Her greatest love was her family, especially her great-grandsons. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and an ennichement service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011, 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
