Obituary for WIELAND

Robert John "RJ" Wieland, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to heaven on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He was born in El Paso, Texas, on December 17, 1925. He moved his family to Albuquerque NM in 1950 and eventually founded Climate Equipment and Distributing Company and it is still in existence today. As a young boy, he served as an altar boy at St. Patrick's Cathedral in El Paso, Texas. He then joined the U.S. Navy where he was trained as an aviation electronics technician's mate. He loved his wife, Barbara of 63 years. Together they raised nine loving children: Mark and his wife, Sue of Kingsland, TX, Ellen of Albuquerque, NM, Chris and his wife, Lisa of Placentia, CA, Tim and his wife, Muriel of Glendale, AZ, Ginger and her husband, Jon of Albuquerque, NM, Grace of Albuquerque, NM, Sue and her husband Larry, Kingsland, TX, Matthew of Parker, CO, and Diana of Castiac, CA; He loved and enjoyed his 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He will be missed, but the love, guidance, and sense of humor he bestowed upon all of us will stay with us forever. A celebration of RJ's life will be held on both Thursday evening, January 27, 2011 with a visitation at 5:00 p.m., and a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at French ~ University Chapel, and a Funeral Service on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7900 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
