Pattyrose Swickard Lucero, age 74, a resident of Belen, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011, following a long illness. She was born in West Terre Haute, Indiana and moved to New Mexico in 1950. Pattyrose married the man of her life, Max Lucero of Albuquerque, on April 28, 1953 and later had three children, one girl and two boys. Their only living child is Kathryn Ruth Bayless and her husband Macy L. Bayless Sr.; two grandsons, Macy Lemar (Stretch) Bayless Jr. and his wife Veronica and Max William (Chip) Bayless and his wife Shelly; and one great-granddaughter, Sierra, all from Belen, NM. She was a devoted Catholic. Pattyrose and Max retired from the trucking business, that was their life. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother not just to her own but to all kids. Pattyrose loved to bring in homeless kids and take care of them. She loved to bowl with her husband. Pattyrose was the best cook and baker there was. She also loved to go boating at the lake with her husband. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time, her husband Max is very ill also.
