Valerie Y. Alirez, age 35, passed away January 22, 2011. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. She is survived by her husband Carlos Alirez; her mother Sylvia Marquez; her father Gilbert Benavidez and wife Terri; two sons, Benjamin Barela and Martin Alirez; four daughters, Raven, Mikayla, Esperanza and Mariana Alirez; one brother Adam Benavidez and his wife Desiree; one sister Kelly Benavidez; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was loved by many and she will be greatly missed. Contributions can be made to New Mexico Educators.
