Obituary for GILBERT

Bruce R. Gilbert, 67, passed away peacefully January 12, 2011. He was born September 15, 1943, in St. Paul, MN to Samuel and Elinor Gilbert. Bruce attended Highland High School and, following graduation in 1961, he joined the U. S. Navy and served as a Dental Technician until 1966. Bruce married Marjorie Seniw (Footracer) in 1963 and leaves behind their two daughters, Christine Buyse of Shepherd, MT and Kimberly Gilbert of Colorado Springs, CO; Bruce is also survived by three grandchildren, Ashley, Erik and Erin Buyse; as well as four nieces and nephews; Also surviving are his brother and sister (twins), Keith Gilbert of Albuquerque, NM and Kathe Gilbert of Santa Fe, NM. Bruce founded Gilbert Orthodontic Laboratory in 1967 and, following 43 years of dedicated work, he sold the business in 2010. Today we celebrate Bruce's bountiful life. He combined a quick and well-honed humor with an incisive intellect. As an expert contract bridge player, he achieved the rank of Silver Life Master. Bruce was also a gourmet cook who enjoyed sumptuous soirees. Too, he had a passion for animals and was an avid golfer who frequently flirted with par. "Do not sorrow, do not weep, I'm flying high, I do not sleep. My spirit soars on winds yet know, where'ere I land I'll cast a glow." Cremation has occurred and private memorial is planned.
