Julien Philip Specht was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, October 13, 1939 to Jacob and Melba Specht. Julien was known as Phil by everyone who knew him. He passed away January 18, 2011 in his home after struggling with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1959. He married Judith Luedeman February 28, 1961. The Spechts moved to Albuquerque in 1987 and have considered it home since. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son David and his 17 year old son, Jeffrey. He leaves behind his wife Judith of almost 50 years; daughter Jacquelyn Lucero of Albuquerque; grandsons Justin Lusk of Green Bay, WI, Joshua, Dallas and Ronnie Lusk; and three great-grandsons Julien, Joshua Jr. and Steven, all of Albuquerque. Phil loved his family very much and enjoyed sharing memories with them from his lifetime. He had a wonderful sense of humor and made visits with anyone a real pleasure. He will be missed greatly but will always remain in the hearts of his loved ones. He had a great respect and love for our Creator and marveled each day at the beauty and wonders of the beautiful creation around him. He had a strong faith in the promises of our Heavenly Father and expressed that he looked forward to the promise made in the book of Revelation. Revelation Chapter 21, verse 4 reads: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there will be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away. Phil's family wishes to thank everyone for their kind expressions and assistance that have been offered during his time of illness. They especially wish to thank Presbyterian Hospice for the kind and loving care that made his lasts days a little more comfortable. A memorial service in Phil's honor will be celebrated on Saturday, January 22, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at French, Lomas Chapel. Lovingly Pre-planned at FRENCH 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE (505) 275-3500
