Gloria Duran, age 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2011. Gloria was a loving and supportive wife, phenomenal mom, and awesome grandma. She leaves behind John, her husband of 52 years; daughters, Michele Duran Skroch and husband Michael, and Judith Chavez; sons, Albert Chavez and Charles Chavez; as well as 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters; one brother; six Duran sisters-in-law; and three Duran brothers-in-law. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 6:00 p.m., at French-Westside Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11:30 a.m., at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Josephs Dr. NW. Interment at Fairview Memorial Park will take place at a later date. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Skroch, Caley Skroch, Jonathan Skroch, Heath Skroch, Hunter Skroch, Ronald Salazar, John Gutierrez, and Rick Duran.
