Edith Briggs, 99, passed away January 16, 2011. She was born April 17, 1911 in Trenton, NJ. She married Alexander Briggs who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Gerry Phillips, Alex Briggs of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Patricia Lawrence of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Edith was a member of First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho. She was a member of the Golden Girls clogging group. They danced at several senior centers and nursing homes. At age 97 she went on an Alaskan cruise with over 20 family members. Edith loved to crochet, read, fish and spending time with her family. Formerly from NJ she moved to Albuquerque in 1984 and lived at Zuni Mobile Home Park until moving to St. Theresa Healthcare. Edith left a legacy of love to her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Theresa for the love and wonderful care given to Edith over this past year. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Rio Rancho, 3906 19th Ave SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
