Louis "GENE" Navalesi, 85, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2011. Gene was born in Walsenburg, Colorado on December 24, 1925. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nadean; daughter, Donna and husband, Bob Warrick; grandchildren, Barbara Harris and Rob Warrick; great-grandchildren, Amie and husband, Steve Fullam, Eric Harris, Shannon and Noel Warrick, Ryan and Michael Campagnola; great-great-grandchildren, Destinee, Nickolas, and Zachary Fullam and Jezebelle Piar; sisters, Theresa Campagnola, Mary and husband, Frank Cito; sister-in-law, Merle Navalesi; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who all have special memories of him in their hearts. Gene was preceded in death by his father, Joe Navalesi; mother, Vinzie Toreson; and step-father, Pete Toreson; brothers, Henry and Bruno Navalesi; brother-in-law, Gene Campagnola; great-grandson, R.C. Warrick; and granddaughter, Debbie Warrick Campagnola. Gene was a WWII veteran serving in the US Navy in the Pacific. Gene and Nadean have lived in Albuquerque since 1947. They started a used furniture business and then went into the auction business. They operated "Gene's Auction Center" along with a small western town for over 40 years. He did numerous charity auctions for organizations in New Mexico and Colorado. He was with the Lions Club and a volunteer firefighter (District #9 Bernalillo County) for many years. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., at French ~ Wyoming Chapel.
