Obituary for SHARPE

Barbara Sharpe, loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 6, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Glover and husband, Robert, and Merry Lee Flores and husband, Ray; five grandchildren, Tybi, John, Robert, David and Barbara; six great-grandchildren, Kameron, Abigail, Michael, Roman, Madilynne and Talon; and nephew, Charles Trumbly and wife, Karen and family. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Angelo Anthony Garegnani; her husband, Maj. Robert M. Polz; her husband, James J. Sharpe, MD; and her son, Cmdr. Michael Anthony Gary. Barbara was a proud member of the Osage Indian Nation. She was a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, and later became a member of Gold Star Wives and Gold Star Mothers. Barbara's family would like to express their gratitude to Presbyterian Hospice for their loving care and support during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held for Barbara on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 9:00 am at French-Wyoming Chapel. Private interment will follow at 11:30 am at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's name to Friends in Time, an organization providing assistance for those with ALS, 3900 Osuna Rd. NE, 87109.
