Obituary for GONZALES

Arthur "Art" Clemente Gonzales, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1958, died Thursday, December 30, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruby I.; two children, Carmen Arthur Gonzales and Gi Gi Gail Gonzales; siblings, Mary Cruz, Arnold Gonzales, and Alice Taylor; beloved nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and cherished friends. Art was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert Gonzales, Jerry Gonzales; and his sister Bertha Borrego. He was born on August 5, 1936 in Alamosa, CO to Frederick and Domitila Valdez Gonzales and graduated from Alamosa High School. After graduation he attended Adams State College before entering the United States Air Force where he proudly served. He married Ruby Ivey on August 13, 1959 in Albuquerque and he worked for Dale Bellamah Homes for over 30 years. Art then worked for New Mexico Taxation and Revenue and retired as the Chief Bank Examiner for the State of New Mexico. He loved a good game of golf and loved the Lobos and the Dallas Cowboys. Art was always quick with a smile and a joke with everyone he met. He was a devoted husband, loving father and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Reception will be held at French - Lomas Chapel, Wednesday, January 12, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Private Ennichment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
