Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 09, 2011

Wanda Hill Davert passed away December 28, 2010. She was born November 6, 1924 in Rosebud, Texas to Vernie and Alvin Hill. She graduated valedictorian of her senior class from Rosebud High School on May 20, 1942. Because WW II was ongoing she went to work at Fort Hood, Killeen, TX the same month she graduated. She worked there until May 20, 1947 when she married Darwin Elton Davert. They had four children, Rodney, Jack, Dee Dee and Darla. They moved to Albuquerque, NM in January 1965 , where Darwin was an air traffic controller. It was here that they learned the Truth from Jehovah's Witnesses. Wanda dedicated her life and was baptized in March, 1969. After retiring from the Internal Revenue Service in 1987 she became an antique dealer until she had a stroke in 2000. Wanda is survived by one brother James Hill of Denton, TX; and one sister Virginia Larkin of Austin, TX; three children, Rodney, Dee Dee, and Darla; four grandsons, Eric Smith, Sean Smith, David Davert and Michael King; two granddaughters, Kristina Davert and Ashlee Davert; two great-granddaughters, Isabel Smith and Kaylee Smith. Wanda loved the earth. Many times she made the comment that she hoped that Jehovah would put her in charge of the flower beds in the New Order. Will you be there to help her till the soil and plant the flowers?
