Albert Joe Garley, age 65, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010 after a five year battle with PSP. He was a resident of Belen since moving here from Albuquerque in 1958. Albert is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Emma Garley and three older brothers, "Boycito", Tony and Ray Sandoval and their wives, Edwina and Frances. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Earline Garley; son, Allan "A.J." Garley and his wife Brittney; two granddaughters, Alexandria Baca and Haidyn Garley; two brothers, Eloy Garley and his wife Ida and Larry Garley; six sisters, Elisa Barela and her husband Ray, Andrea DeMmon and her husband John, Vivian Shimabuku of Hawaii, Lillian Garley, Grace Gonzales and her husband Al and Theresa Garley and her husband Clyde McKenzie and brother-in-law, Ron Butler of Belen. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a Rosary on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends at 6:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Vista Care Hospice, 5639 Jefferson NE Suite A Albuquerque, NM 87109.
