Obituary for DOOLITTLE

James Louis Doolittle, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, with his loving family by his side. Jim was born on Sept. 15, 1924 in Port Huron, Michigan. He left college to serve in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. Returning to college, he earned a Masters Degree in Journalism at the University of Iowa where he met his wife, Helen. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, and with his church. He remained in the Army Reserves and achieved the rank of Cmd. Sgt. Major (E-9). He retired from the University of New Mexico where he was Production Manager at the printing plant. His passion was printing on his antique letterpress. He is survived by his wife, Helen; and by his children, Thomas and wife Lorrie, Paul, Craig, and Mark; grandchildren, Christian, Keckley, Steven, and Sarah; and great-grandchildren Montgomery, Malia and Kainoa; Also surviving him is his brother Fred; and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary at 9:30 a.m., will be followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2010 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
