Obituary for SPENSLEY

Juanita "Nita" Marie Spensley passed away peacefully on December 20, 2010 in her home surrounded by family and her adored kitty "Babe". Born October 23, 1926 in Kansas City Missouri, she was the only child of Hazel and Frank McManis. She was preceded in death by her infant son John Robert Pickrel; and her husband and soul mate, Robert "Bob" DeWitt Spensley. Nita joined Bob on what would have been their 47th wedding anniversary. Nita was her husband's medical office manager for over 25 years. In their 32 years together they traveled to many places and worked together building a cabin in the beautiful Conejos Valley in southern Colorado. After her retirement she volunteered at All Faiths Receiving Home nurturing children in need. Nita was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family. Nita is survived by her daughter Tanya Waldeck and husband Dan of Phoenix AZ, grandsons John and Bryce Lister, great grandchildren Ethan and Ella Fenstermacher all of Albuquerque NM, daughter Connie Rockelmann and husband Jim of Durango CO, granddaughters Sarah Rockelmann of Phoenix AZ, and Lisa Rockelmann of Charlotte NC, grandson Paul Rockelmann and wife Ashley of Durango CO, son Greg Pickrel and wife Ann of Glendale AZ, granddaughter Lana Ambrose and great-grandchildren Alexis and Jameson Ambrose of Peoria AZ, step daughter Susan Spensley and husband John Morschauser, step daughter Marcia Scutt, and husband Steve, grandsons, Aaron Scutt and wife Jennifer and great-grandchildren Minah and Chase, grandson Jared Scutt all of Albuquerque NM, Ryan Scutt and wife Rachel, great-grandchildren Steven and Colin of Colorado Springs CO, stepson Steven Spensley and wife Mary, grand children Erica Spensley and Steven Spensley, stepson David Spensley and wife Linda, granddaughter Lauren all of Albuquerque NM. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at French Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE with Pastor Randy Walquist officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
