Isa Baca, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in his home. He was born April 9, 1925 in Chaparito, NM. Isa was a Purple Heart Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and RCIA at The Shrine of St. Bernadette. Isa enjoyed a good joke, fishing, hunting, singing and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Andrew Baca; sister, Estefanita Varela and his parents, Adelido and Vicentita Baca. Isa is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Baca; son, Leo Baca and wife Ann; daughter, Mary Lou Leyba and husband Pete; daughter in law, Cathy Baca; daughter, Lucy Peralta and husband Bobby; son, Isa Baca Jr. and Myrtha Soto; grandchildren, Michelle, Daniel, Chris, Danielle, Adrianna, John, Ngarie, Brian, Isa III, Andrew, Chandra, Alec and 15 great - grandchildren. Rosary will be recited Sunday, December 26, 2010, 6:00 p.m., at French, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 27, 2010, 9:00 a.m., at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. A reception will follow the mass at the church hall.
