Virgie R. Thies, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 7, 2010. Mrs. Thies is survived by her nieces, Elizabeth Garcia, and Verna Lucero and husband, Leroy; her nephew, Patrick Baca; her grandnieces and grandnephews, Valerie, Angelica, Ruby, Ruth, Rumaldo, Laura, Charles, Joey, Robert, and Rudy; and several extended family members. Mrs. Thies was preceded in death by her husband, Walter. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW , 8:30 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Joe Herrera, Charles Ramirez, Rumaldo Ramirez, Leroy Lucero, Patrick Baca, and Manny Romero.
