Esther Bareuther, 95, mother of Doris Hartenberger, passed away on November 25, 2010, in Albuquerque, NM. She was born January 16, 1915, in Harrison, Nebraska, the only daughter of five children. Her family came to California when she was a young girl, settling in Whittier, CA. After a few years in Southern California, Esther's father felt the boys needed to know hard work, so the family bought a prune orchard in Red Bluff, CA. After their retirement, they built a home in Northern California, where she spent many hours volunteering at the local food bank, Friends for Hospice and her church. At the time of Harley's passing in 2000, they had celebrated 62 years of marriage. Esther relocated to Albuquerque in 2008, to be closer to her daughter. She is survived by her children, Doris Hartenberger and husband, Paul, and her son, Robert Bareuther and wife Jan, of Folsom, CA; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; She is also survived by one brother, Keith Bunting, of Sheridan, WY. A celebration of her life will be held, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Las Colinas Retirement Village, 500 Paisano NE, Albuquerque, NM. A private burial will take place in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Presbyterian Hospice, in her memory.
