Sue Kathryn Ruoff passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2010. She was 74. Sue was born in Altus, OK, and grew up in Raton, NM, where her father was for many years the owner and publisher of the Raton Daily Range. Sue graduated from the University of New Mexico, where she majored in journalism and was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She worked in advertising and public relations and was active member of the Junior League of Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband of more than 51 years, George A. Ruoff; daughters, Kathryn J. Faguy and husband David, of Albuquerque and Christine A. Dougherty of Tucumcari, NM; grandchildren, Kyle G. and Kaitlyn E. Dougherty of Tucumcari and Frances S. and Helen I Faguy of Albuquerque; sister, Linda Woolman of Canoga Park, CA; sister-in-law Nancy J. Ruoff of Santa Fe, NM as well as numerous other family and friends. Sue was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Kay Pfeiffer, formerly of Raton, NM; and her sister Joyce Brown, formerly of Boulder, CO. A private memorial for family members only is planned. The family wishes to thank the physicians, nurses and other staff members at the University of New Mexico Hospital for the compassionate and expert care they gave Sue.
