Obituary for COSTON

George Birch Coston, 82, went to be with our Lord Jesus on November 25, 2010. He was born September 22, 1928. He is survived by his wife Polly; three boys, Michael, Bruce and David; also three grandchildren, Julie, Chris and Jessica. When he was three his family moved to a small farm in Tera Haut, Indiana. There he finished his schooling and attended college at Indiana State College. As a young man his mind turned to his love of flying and racing his sprint car, and the fun of just keeping the car running on the race track. After graduation he joined the USAir Force. He served in Korea and his duty was flying cargo and passengers to Germany and back to Korea and the U.S. After resigning he and his family moved to Phoenix where he joined the Phoenix Police Force until he had to work with CAA/FAA as an air traffic controller where he resigned after 32 years. He always enjoyed helping his boys with the things they liked to do, racing motorcycles or motocross. They still have an interest in sprint car racing. George and Polly owned and operated several businesses, Coston's Kawasaki; Silk Plants, Merle Norman Studio, Albuquerque Hair Trends and Merchandise. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow Funeral Service at Sandia Memory Gardens.
