June Burkdoll, 70 years young, passed away November 26, 2010 after a valliant battle with cancer. A long time resident of Albuquerque, June was born in Appleton Colorado, and spent most of her youth in that area. June was widowed by her husband Kenneth in 1980 and is survived by her four children: son Mitchel Burkdoll, his wife Sharon; son Martin Burkdoll, his wife Barbara; daughter Tracy Gerber, her husband Darrell; son Michael Burkdoll, and his wife Michelle; June's grandchildren in order of birth were Amanda Church, her husband Sam, Tawnie Gerber, Patrick Gerber, Katelyn Burkdoll, Lacie Burkdoll, Tamryn Burkdoll, and Shayna Burkdoll a.k.a. "Hoppy Doodle," and a grandson yet to be named upon his arrival in April; June is also survived by her sisters, Lela Luckie, and Terri Armijo; neice Stacey Irwin; nephew Sean Luckie; many wonderful and loving neighbors who did so much to help her over the years, and finally her beloved dog Shag. Her love for her children, her grandchildren, extended family, her pets and the great outdoors was unparralleled and we will carry that with us always. Everyone of us claimed to be her favorite...and that's because she said each of us were. June will be cremated, and her children will take her to Colorado, for a private ceremony.
