Obituary for BLAKELY

Garry Rexford Blakely passed away on November 19, 2010 at his home in Edgewood, New Mexico. He was born on September 28, 1934 in Dalhart Texas to Carl and Eva Blakely. Garry moved to Albuquerque when he was a young boy, and was a graduate of Albuquerque High School. In 1953 he married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Ringle. Garry was a pressman and lithography craftsman in the printing industry from the time he graduated high school until his retirement in 2005. He worked for a number of printing houses and printing service and supply companies in the Albuquerque area. In retirement, Garry found enjoyment in fishing and reading, two of his favorite pastimes. Throughout his life, Garry took a quiet pride in his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son Stuart Blakely and his wife Ruth Dismuke-Blakely; his son Wayne Blakely; his sister Louise Hardy and her husband Willis Hardy; seven grandchildren; ten great-grand children; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. His father Carl; mother Eva; stepfather Charles Roberts; and his daughter Sharon precede him in death. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Locust Street in Albuquerque on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park.
