Obituary for ENDERUD

Clarence O. Marine Corps Warrant Officer (ret.) Clarence O. "Jim" Enderud, age 85, a longtime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010. Jim was born to Olaf and Junia Enderud on March 13, 1925 in Bellview, Kansas. He married his wife, Ellen Koch at Fort Pendleton, California on July 13, 1954. Jim served with distinction in three branches of the military, the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. He served in three wars, World War II, the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Marine Corps in December 1967, then had a long career in law enforcement in both Washington and New Mexico. He enjoyed traveling throughout the world and had visited every continent, some of them several times. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and was able to visit every state, all provinces of Canada and Northern Mexico; always happy to meet and visit with new found friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen; five brothers, Emil and wife, Michelene, Loyd and wife, Freida of Oklahoma, Alfred and wife, Nancy of Florida, Roy, and Jess "Bud" and his wife, Louisa of California; two sisters, Opal Sample of Nebraska and Ruby Morrical and husband, Jim of Kansas; sister-in-law Marion Spies and husband, Manfred of Germany and many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Riverside Funeral Home of Belen, 418 W. Reinken Ave. Interment with military honors will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. An online guest register is available at www.riversideofbelen.com. Semper Fidelis.
