Garland P. Tilley, 76, of Los Lunas passed away November 13, 2010. Garland was born in Pineville, West Virginia on March 31, 1934. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gwendola Tilley, his two daughters, Karen Marberry and husband Phillip; Kathy Tilley. He is also survived by his sister, Willa Faye Pruitt and husband Jack of High Point, North Carolina, his brother Riley Tilley and wife Irene of Chesterfield, Virginia; his sisters Thelma Brooks and Lucy Halsey both of West Virginia. Garland was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren; Melissa and husband Scott Profitt, Jennifer Marberry and friend Garrett Johnson, Matthew Grindell, Jessica Grindell, Sarah Grindell and Emily Grindell. Garland was also a great-grandfather to Angelica and Samantha. He is survived by his nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his Mother Lula Tilley,his Father William Riley Tilley and infant grandson Marberry. Garland was active in his community and was a member of First Baptist Church of Los Chavez, Bethelehem Lodge #56 and Hillsville Lodge #193 AF&AM. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite as well as Jessamine #45 OES. He proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force for over twenty years. He was a retiree of Sandia National Laboratories of Albuquerque. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at French-University from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, November 16. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 17 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church of Los Chavez in Los Chavez, NM.
