Obituary for HAGGARD

Ruth Frances Haggard of Rio Rancho passed away November 5, 2010 at the Rio Rancho Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service will be held for friends and family at Daniels Family Funeral Services on Southern Blvd. in Rio Rancho at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 15. Mrs. Haggard is survived by her two sons, James and Raymond; plus a large extended family of 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. She and her late husband Lowell moved to Rio Rancho in 1998 from California to be near their son James. She was widowed in 2005. Mrs. Haggard helped support her family through the Great Depression, WWII, the Korean conflict, and into the sixties working as an executive secretary, medical transcriber, hospital admitting clerk, co-manager of a mobile home park, and as assistant City Clerk of the city of San Bernardino, CA. She was born in that city on April 22, 1911, and graduated from high school there in 1929. Her husband of 75 years was a U.S. Army chaplain and a minister in the Disciples of Christ denomination. So in addition to all the various jobs listed above, Ruth was a military officer's wife, a pastor's helper, and a wonderful mother.
