Jose (Joe) E. Martinez Jr., 79, a resident of Los Ranchos, NM, passed away on October 29, 2010 with his family at his side. Mr. Martinez is survived by his children, Robert Martinez, Johnny Martinez and wife, Stephanie, Gary Martinez, Martin Martinez and wife, Debra, and Kathy Martinez; five grandchildren, Denise, Lorraine, Robert Jr., Joseph, and Adrienne; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zach, Riley, Madison, Alyssa, and one on the way; his sister-in- law, Margaret Martinez; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends. Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; and his daughter, Flora Martinez. Mr. Martinez was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict, and a member of the American Legion Post 69. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., by Robbie Sisneros. Final visitation will be Wednesday in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church at 9:00 a.m. A Committal Service will follow Mass at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Carlos Garcia, David Gurule, Joseph Martinez, Robert Martinez Jr., Joe Silva, and Alfred Sandoval Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Baca, Matthew Erickson, Eddie Sena, and Richard Martinez.
