Obituary for BARNETTE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday October 27, 2010

Leslie Vincent Barnette (Vince) passed away at his home in Albuquerque, NM on October 8, 2010 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his father: Leslie Dwight Johnson; his grandparents; and his dear friend: Darren Pauly. He leaves behind his mother Diane Balister; a son, Austin Gilbert Passiment; his brother Lance Allen Barnette; his sister Miranda Ruth Yost; and a large, loving, extended family. He will be greatly missed by his many friends to whom he was strong, generous, and true. He left us too soon, but his star burned brightly. He fed the hungry, cared for the sick, encouraged the hopeless. He defended the defenseless and fought for less fortunate people, like him, who are often invisible to society and for whom the norm is often difficult and every day is a struggle. He is at peace now enfolded in the arms of God. His spirit remains in the heart of those he loved and who loved him. He will return home to his native Virginia for a celebration of his life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local Hospice or see someone struggling and give them a hand in his honor. Please visit Leslie online guest book at: www.Reflectionoflife.com.
