Obituary for LOPEZ

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday October 23, 2010

Kelly Murdoch Lopez, 32, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully Tuesday morning, October 20, 2010. Kelly was raised and lived with her loving and special grandparents, Jesse G. Lopez (dad) and Delia G. Lopez (mom). Kelly was blessed daily with their grace and unconditional love. They were blessed in return with Kelly's love. Kelly leaves behind her mother, Cita; who loved her daughter with all her heart and will miss her dearly; Neri Lovato (stepfather); David Michael Murdoch (brother, whom she called daily and loved so, so, much); Rachel (sister-in-law); Kiadi and Riley (nieces whom she never stopped talking about); Richard Rodriguez (Kelly's boyfriend whom she loved dearly and meant the world to her); cousins, Katrina Apodaca and Christine Garcia (Kelly's caregivers who drove her everywhere); Joella Apodaca, Julie Lopez Casaus and Maria Crosley; (aunts) and Jesse Lopez Jr. and Eddie Lopez (uncles); Loretta Milan (grandmother); Michael Murdoch (father); Amanda Murdoch (sister); great-aunts: Fina, Dora, Vita and Lenore; Kelly is also survived by numerous other family members and friends. Kelly was granted one wish through the Make A Wish Foundation when she was a young girl. Kelly went to Hollywood and met Jeremy Jordan, an actor and singer. From that day forward, Jeremy stayed as a part of Kelly's life, as did David Lipper. As we wake each day, our hearts ache and our tears flow. Kelly taught us all that we are special, unique and different in our own ways. Kelly was an intelligent person with great humor and compassion. She volunteered at the Los Griegos Library for many years, where Sandra took great care of her. We need to extend gracious thanks to Dr. Tolber and Dr. Yabek for treating Kelly like their daughter. Thank you to all the members of her team that had her goodwill at heart. A never ending thanks to her beloved grandparents dearly whom lived only for Kelly's happiness. Kelly never wanted them to leave her first and Kelly was granted her last wish. She loved everything in life and was so blessed. Now Kelly is God's angel in heaven. A viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 24, 2010, at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. A reception will follow at Kelly's home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
