Obituary for WEYANT

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday October 19, 2010

Thomas George Weyant 1950 - 2010, left us unexpectedly to be with his Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on October 2, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Anthony Weyant (2000); mother, Lee Elda Dickinson Weyant (2010); and sisters, Ann Little (1999) and Jeannie Weyant (2004). He is survived by his wife of 30 years Rebecca Jo Weyant; his son Joseph and daughter-in-law Amanda; sister Madeline Gregory of Buena Park, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Tom served in the Navy for over 20 years as a Sonar Technician and Instructor before entering ministry with the Assemblies of God and becoming a credentialed Special Education teacher. He loved his time in the service and was proud of the part he played in securing and maintaining our freedoms. Tom loved his family and friends, taking great pains to share that love with them every chance he got. He prayed for family, friends, community, and country daily. The Word of God was his strength and he took time to read and meditate upon it. He loved going to church and worshiping with other believers. But his greatest joy was when someone gave their heart to the Lord and joined the family. Memory service was held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Liberty Christian Center, 8801 South H Street, Bakersfield. Inurnment will be at the Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, CA on Tuesday, October 19 at 1:15. 2 Timothy 4: 6-8 ... the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
