Michael Saavedra. On October 11, 2010, caressed by the gentle afternoon glow of a perfect early autumn day, and in the arms of the woman he loved more than anything in this world, Michael Saavedra, protective, devoted and loving husband of Debbie V. Saavedra; and diligent son of Rosendo and Josie (Josefita) Saavedra, concluded his brave and enduring fight with cancer - passing on to a greater glory free of suffering, greeted in celebration by his forebears, and beckoned by the triumphant and final call of the Lord. He was three days from his forty-eighth birthday, having entered this world on October 14, 1962 and growing up in Armijo in Albuquerque's South Valley. With a boundless heart and sharing unlimited generosity, he was successful and proud of the business he and Debbie shared and worked hard on together to cultivate and grow. Married for 21 years, Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie; his parents, Rosendo and Josefita Saavedra; his siblings, Ruben Saavedra, Jeanette Padilla and husband, Ambrose, Alex Saavedra, Donna Lopez and husband, Anthony; his Godchildren, Joe Jaramillo, Michelle Martinez, Bessie Gomez, Kayla Sanchez, Alex Garcia, Vicente Padilla, Nikili Bowyer and Jeremiah Jaramillo; his Godmother Lili Salazar; his in-laws, Celso and Bessie Jaramillo and family; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
