Frank Boyd Burchard passed into the presence of our Lord on October 9, 2010 at the age of 87. He was born outside the small West Texas town of Toyah. Frank grew up on a ranch and later, during WWII, became a flight instructor for B24 and B29 pilots. In 1948, he married Ruth Bayles and they were blessed with a loving life together for 61 years. They ranched outside of Albany, Texas, and later moved to Oklahoma where they raised their two children, Jan and Ray. In Oklahoma, Frank worked for the FAA as an air traffic controller. After retirement, he and Ruth settled in Albuquerque. During his lifetime, Frank enjoyed traveling with Ruth, flying, oil painting, and collecting coins and arrowheads. He was known for his love of God and his church ministries. Frank always had a gentle, playful spirit and gave constant loving care to Ruth and his family. Frank is survived by his daughter, Jan Cantrell; son, Ray and wife Barbara; grandchildren Deborah, Tamara, and David; brother, John Bayles; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Frank's life will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at New Covenant Church, 7201 Paseo del Norte NE. Visitation and viewing will be half hour prior to the service.
