Genevieve Cheever Fischer, 89, returned to our heavenly father on October 5, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Robert; three children, John Robert Fischer, Chris Alan Fischer, Patricia Ann Ellis and their families; one sister, Bonnie Heller; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was born September 30, 1921 to Emma and Joseph Cheever in Toronto, KS. She married Robert D. Fischer July 4, 1940 in LeRoy, KS. The couple set residence in Wichita, KS. In 1961 they moved the family to Albuquerque, NM. Genevieve (Jenny) was a talented artist and won ribbons for her Tole Painting and displayed and sold her crafts in boutiques. She belonged to Thimbleweeds and New Mexico Quilters Association. She was a loving, generous mother and friend and will be missed deeply. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010, United Methodist Church, 4700 Paradise Boulevard NW, Albuquerque, NM, 87114, 505-898-1327. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Genevieve's name to The Alzheimer's Association of New Mexico, 9500 Montgomery Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
