Obituary for CHAVEZ

Eugene A. "Gino" Chavez, 53, died suddenly on September 21, 2010 in Henderson, NV, where he resided for the past ten years. Gino was born in Albuquerque, NM on November 9, 1956. He graduated from highland High School, class of 1974. He started to work at the Albuquerque Transit Co. and from there he developed his diesel mechanic skills. He worked at several bus companies during the 30 years of employment earning many awards and achieving managerial and supervisory positions. He will be remembered for his very funny sense of humor, his infectious laugh, cheering for the Chicago Bears and riding his Harley motorcycle. Gino is survived by his parents, Eddie and Emma Chavez; his wife Katherine "Kat"; sister Eileen and husband Adrian Armijo; brothers, Eric Chavez and partner Bennie Pacheco and Edward Chavez and wife Sandra Sosa. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and long life friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Antonio and Amelia Chavez, Roman and Teresa Montoya; and favorite aunt, Juanita Nolasco and her daughter, Clara Nolasco. Mass and Christian Burial will be held at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter St., NE, services pending. Mgsr. Leo Lucero as celebrant. Cremation has taken place. Burial will follow immediately after Mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Services are in care of: Salazar and Sons Mortuary 400 Third Street, SW 505-247-4124
