Siprianita "Sipi" M., age 88, a resident of Belen, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 2, with her loving family by her side. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Sipi enjoyed gardening and especially any type of needle work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro S. Ortega; parents, Casimiro and Genoveva Martinez; brothers, Felix, Marcos, Jerimias and Mercedes Martinez and sisters, Josie Gonzalez and Della Martinez. Sipi is survived by her special friend, Enrique "Henry" Padilla of Belen; children, Edwina Weathersby and husband, Tom of Belen, Frank Ortega and wife, Lillian of Los Alamos, NM, Patricia Oliver and husband, Jerry of Houston, Texas, Diana Contreras of Belen and Richard Ortega of Colorado Springs, CO; nine grand children;13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, with a rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
