Obituary for BOYER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday September 01, 2010

Robert E. (Bob) Boyer, Jr., 50, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa King Boyer; his daughter, Christetta Boyer; his parents, Robert E. and Audrey Boyer, Sr.; his sisters, Sandy Boyer, and Cheryl Lujan and husband Terry and their sons TJ and Dusty of Los Alamos, NM; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and devoted friends. Bob was a graduate of Los Alamos High School Class of 1978, as well as Denver Automotive and Diesel College, where he graduated on the Dean's List. He was General Manager of B&D Industries, Inc., where he was employed for 24 years. Bob was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing, playing softball and playing fetch with his wonder dog, Newley. He had an extraordinary amount of perseverance and strength to overcome his physical challenges - to the amazement of his family and friends. He also loved a challenge and enjoyed playing the guitar and solving any automotive problems he could get his hands on. Most importantly, he enjoyed his walk with the Lord. His family and friends are rejoicing that he is home with the Lord and playing softball again. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Presbyterian Medical Specialty Unit Team for their compassionate care and concern. A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen's Methodist Church, 4601 Juan Tabo NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, 5705 Grant Creek, Missoula, MT 59808 or the New Mexico Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111 or to the Ministry/Worship Center of your choice.
