Obituary for WIETHOFF

Charles A. Wiethoff, Jr., 89, passed away on August 27, 2010 of natural causes at his home in Albuquerque. He was born in Minneapolis, MN and grew up there. During WWII he joined the Marines and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC where he met his wife, a fellow Marine. Charles worked for Minneapolis Honeywell for most of his adult life spending over 20 years in Okinawa working on the SR71 project. While overseas he and his wife were able to travel extensively throughout the Orient, Australia, Europe and the British Isles. Upon returning to the states he was a consultant at Beale AFB until he and his wife moved to Albuquerque to retire. During his retirement years he filled his time with family activities, travel and DIY projects of above average skill. Charles is survived by his daughter, Leigh; his son, Charles, III.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters.
