Obituary for MILLER

Treva J. Miller, 88, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on August 19, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to John and Josephine Perry in Minneapolis, KS on January 1, 1922. Treva graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Concordia, KS. in 1943. She joined the Army Nursing Corps, serving in England during WWII. She returned to the States aboard the Queen Mary. She married Jack Miller in 1946. While she was raising three children, she graduated from K State with a Bachelors of Art and Science. Treva lived in Michigan for several years before moving to Albuquerque in 1959 where she retired from Lovelace Clinic after 25 years. During her Lovelace years she was the drummer for Der Polka Schlingels German Band. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Pete; and infant brother Kenneth. Treva is survived by her daughters, Beverly Rolston and husband Russ, Barbara Thomte and husband Jim; son Steve Miller D'Coda and Denise all of Albuquerque; seven special grandchildren, Steve, Jeff, JoAnn, Bob, John, Taia, and Dillon; brother Joe Perry and wife Marilyn of Minneapolis, KS; sister Dorothy Seitz of Anchorage, AK; and many nieces and nephews. Burial of her cremains will take place at Highland Cemetery in Minneapolis, KS at a later date. Memorial contributions, in Treva's name may be made to Rock City Park 1051 Ivy Rd.
