Obituary for ROSS

Reverend Cannon Edmund P.(Ned) Ross, 84, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully August 20, 2010 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law Steven and Angelique Ross. Ned is survived by his wife of 65 years Lila Kellogg Ross; sister Betsy Lackmann; daughters, LynnDee Kelly, Georgeanne Norris and husband John, Robin Jakino and husband Mike, Leslie Burgess and husband Bob; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Jeff Kelly. Ned was born January 6, 1926 to Edmund and Evelyn Ross, graduated from ABQ High in 1943 and UNM in 1949 where he obtained a civil engineering degree and lettered in football. He also attended the US Naval Academy, and served in the army during WWII. Ned is the great-grandson of New Mexico Territorial Governor Edmund G. Ross. Ned was ordained in the Episcopal Church and served as associate rector at St. Mark's on the Mesa and later with St. John's Cathedral. He was a founder of the Conference of Christians and Jews. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 27, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John's followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
