Donald John Bunten, age 86, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 22, 2010. He is survived by his cherished wife of 65 years, Billye; two daughters, Donna Bunten and husband Joe Roush of Olympia, WA, and Sharon Boyd of Albuquerque; grandson, Jeremiah Glenn and wife Amanda; great-grandson, Mason Dean Glenn; brother, Dan, and wife Mary Ann; nieces, nephews; and devoted son-in-law, Dick Glenn, all of Albuquerque. Don was born on March 9, 1924, in Raton, the third son of Arch and Grace Bunten. He was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Lynn Glenn, in 2002; and two brothers, Bill and Jim. Donald worked for the Santa Fe Railroad Company for two years before joining the Army-Air Force in 1943, wherein he became a bombardier-navigator, and married Billye in August, 1945. He worked for Sandia Laboratories as a machinist for 36 years. Upon retirement, he and Billye moved to Rio Rancho, where Don was a master gardener and helpful neighbor.
