Obituary for HILL

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday August 08, 2010

Lisa Marie Hill passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Rio Rancho, NM, on July 24, 2010. At age 41, Lisa had fought a very long and difficult battle with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and all of its complications and limitations. She outlived her life expectancy by many years, to the joy of all her friends and family, but not without taking its toll. She spent most of her life helping and supporting family members in their times of need including her mother, Edwina Logan Hambor, her grandmother, Patricia Logan, her fiance 's mother, Evelyn Graham, and her uncle, Patrick Logan, all whom have preceded her in death. To her friends and family she will always be remembered as a "Free Spirit" with a love for life and living in the moment. This is a legacy she has left for us all to embrace. She is survived by her sister, Christine Howland and husband, Tracy Howland; her fiance, Glenn Graham; godson, Aiden Graham; niece, Kirsten Sparacino; nephews, Aaron, Adam and Logan Howland; great aunt, Joyce Harding; cousins: Shawne Blackburn, husband Billy and daughters, Raeanna and MacKenzie; Patrick Logan and wife Valerie; Jason Logan; Carolina Lawrence; father, Brookes Hill; her fiance's father Don Graham; and many others who had the joy of knowing and loving her. She never forgot to take a moment to cherish her friends and family with cards, gifts, visits, and conversation. She will be dearly missed by all. In lieu of memorial flowers, please make donations to THE LUPUS FOUNDATION OF AMERICA (www.lupus.org). There is no cure, and many people are affected by this disorder from mild to extreme (in Lisa's case). Please take the time to read some of the information at the web-site, it will help everyone understand how truly strong and determined Lisa was to have lived a life with so many obstacles and still be a shining light and invigorating spirit to all those who had the privilege of knowing her. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on August 21, 2010 at 3200 Northern Blvd., Rio Rancho, NM, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Coquia for taking the extra time and care for Lisa over these difficult years.
