Purificacion "Puring" Empleo, 97, loving mother, grandmother, great - grandmother, and friend, passed away at her home on Monday, July 26, 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Marianita Alonzo; daughter - in - law, Remedios Jayme, and many, many grandchildren thru great - great - great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, in 1978 and her son Maximo in 2008. Puring relocated to New Mexico from San Francisco in 1980 to be close to her daughter. Because of her life - long dedication to her family, she traveled between New Mexico and the Bay Area over the years to spend time with her entire family. Friends may visit French ~ Lomas location, on Thursday, July 29, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd NE at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010. Puring will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in San Francisco, CA.
