Shirley Ann Chavez C De Baca, 63, a resident of Bernalillo, was called to heaven on July 23, 2010 at 4:45 p.m. with her family and friends by her side at Presbyterian Hospital. The daughter of the late Benny G. and Mary Chavez, Shirley was born on December 30, 1946 in Albuquerque. She was a graduate of Albuquerque high school in 1965, where she was a majorette. Shirley was a very active member in her community and strong supporter of St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis TN, the Make a Wish Foundation, as well as the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She also held the position of, New Mexico State President of the National Association of Letter Carrier Auxiliary for the past fifteen years, and the treasurer for the Albuquerque local NALCA for the past ten years. She has also been an active member of the NALCA for the past thirty years. She was a loving and devoted grandmother, mother and wife to her family, as well as a faithful friend. Anyone who has ever met her would know what a wonderful women she is. Shirley was preceded to heaven by her son Daniel R. C De Baca, JR. She is survived by her husband Mr. Daniel R. C De Baca; daughters, Miss Julia Ana C De Baca and her partner Ron Rael, Miss Angelica C De Baca and her fiancee Gary English; grandsons, Daniel and Diego Sedillo; sister Julie Chavez; and mother-in-law Mrs. Anita C De Baca; and late husband Raymond C De Baca. Her Pallbearers will be Patricio Chavez, David Lee Chavez, Ken Mark Chavez, Gregory Torres, Gary Chavez, and Ron John Soto. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 7:00 p.m., Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE and Meadowlark Lane (inside Vista Verde Memorial Park), Rio Rancho, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010, Our Lady of Sorrows, 301 Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM, 505-867-5252.
