Obituary for PEREA

Nicholas S. Perea, 86, passed away peacefully in the company of his family. Nicholas (Nick) was born July 21, 1924 to the ranching family of Amador and Antonia Perea, of Pinos Wells, NM. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the US Navy aboard the Sangamon Class aircraft carrier escort USS Suwannee for three years. A life long member of the Sociadad de San Jose, in Pinos Wells, NM. He was an active parishioner of our Lady of Fatima Church and retired from Sandia Labs after 35 years of service. Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents; and was the last surviving sibling of five brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Filia; three sons, Michael, Edward, Gregory and wife Elaine; three grandchildren, Aaron and wife Kami, Jacob and wife Jennifer, and Racheal and husband Jesse; three great-grandchildren Norah, Gabriel and Elijah. Many thanks to Dr. Suzanne M. Pinon of Southwest Geriatrics, AmberCare Hospice and Preferred Assisted Living. Mass of the Resurrection will be Friday, 10:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel with Msg. Francis X. Eggert, celebrant. Interment will follow with military honors.
