Jimmie (Chemilo) Chavez, 70, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010. Mr. Chavez is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Rose Chavez; daughters, Maryellan Chavez and husband, David, Yvette Chavez and boyfriend, Anthony Romero; sisters, Ernestine Lujan, Mercy Chavez and husband, Paul, Irene Chavez and husband, Sonny; brothers, Herman Chavez and wife, Patsy, Larry Chavez and wife, Helen, David Chavez and wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Angel Montoya and husband, David, Chanel Chavez and boyfriend, Leo Perea, and Nichole Chavez; and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and friends. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his parents, Damacio and Clara Chavez, six siblings, and a brother-in-law, Alex Lujan. Mr. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Chavez owned and operated La Mesa Cabinet Shop for thirty years. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Joe and Cathy Montano. Final visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Father Nick Nichols, presider. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Lujan, Stephen Chavez, Paul Chavez, Jr., Nick Chavez, Joey Chavez, and David Chavez, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gilbert Tercero, Roger Lujan, and Albert Chavez.
