Katherine B.Marten, age 92, passed away in Albuquerque, NM on July 10, 2010. She was born to Aaron and Nova Barringer in Dongola, Ill. Katherine was an RN for 34 years. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Katherine's family was the focus of her life. Katherine loved bingo and family get togethers, especially son-in-laws Keith's cooking. She is survived by her children, Patsy and Bob Baines, Karen Griego and husband, Phil, Barbara Knighton and husband Keith, and Keith Marten and wife, Jone; Grandchildren, Robbie Baines and wife, Deann, Kathy Lucero, Chris Niles, Tom Marten, Brooke Marten, Piper Marten and Jonathan Marten; Great-grandchildren, Crystal Baines, Joshua Baines, Victoria Baines, Mikal Marten and Christopher Marten and their mother, Jeanne Marten; great-great grandchildren, Jazmine Lucero and Jason Marten; sister, Wilmeta Jack and family; sister-in-law, Shirley Barringer and family; also adopted daughter Kathy Hanson and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Orval Marten of 41 years; grandson, Jamie Marten; great-granddaughter, Amber Lucero and son-in-law, Frank Garcia; brothers, Glen, Vincent and Dean Barringer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at French ~ Wyoming Chapel with Burial to follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe.
