Melquiades "Mike" Armijo, age 89, beloved father, grandfather and brother, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 3, 1921 in Casa Salazar, NM and was a resident of Alameda, NM. Mike was an avid rancher and devoted father, who loved spending time on his ranch. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Agnes Armijo; his sisters, Elsie Chavez, Virginia Atencio and Eleanor Armijo. Mike is survived by his son, Michael Armijo and wife Paula; his daughter, Dorothy Armijo de Dominguez and husband Silverio and grandson, Andrew Montoya of the family home; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends. Mike will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. Visitations will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Service of Christian Burial will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Hondo Armijo, Kenneth Montoya, Marcus Armijo, Dominic Armijo, Andrew Montoya and Robert Armijo. Honorary Bearer will be Adan Armijo.
